Yes Ive read the stuff in the Bible and asked around at wreakers etc.

Whats your opinon??

The Jimny is the easy one but found that they are expensive for the kits and can fail being a bit small, but they do bolt in easy.

Crassida, Celica Toyota things are cheap to buy from the wreakers and seem easy to make the plate up and bolt in.

The Vit shoud be easy too, and more important Ive found alost all the bits to do it, but I cant seem to find much on doing it. Is it almost the same as the toyota box to fit up??

Already have the a 1.6 so I dont need the pump etc. its already there.
Just the fitting to the chassis is what im not sure of?

Bent does an adaptor for the toyota box if you need one, But it is not hard to make one for the vit power steer.

To fit the vit box to the chassis u can make a plate that has countersunk holes drilled out to match original mounting holse and drill new holes that will allow studs to stick out so that the vit box can be bolted down. Or u can do what i did and redrill the frame and make a fishplate on the outside of the chassis. Both these moethods will leave the vit box at an angle which will need a uni joint to replace the rag joint.

Just get in there and do it . Its not that hard a mod.

So the Vit box seems a good choice and works well.

The Vitara box works perfectly well and I have had no problems at all with this setup. Once you put power steering on yours you will never go back, it makes it so much nicer and easier to drive.
As I have never had any experience with the Toyota box conversion I cannot comment on its performance but would assume it to be much the same really.
With my guide I have given you everything I can for anyone to do this conversion. If you go in this direction and have any problems then just let me know.

The Toyota box also works nicely. I've made a few bolt-on plates to mount them in the past.

A couple of nice things about the Toyota box are it doesn't require any mods to the steering shaft as it bolts straight on (with a little hole slotting), and the Vitara pitman arm fits on it, allowing you to use the factory drag link and still clear the chassis rail.
This makes it a relatively easy mod.

As Bazooka says, it makes the truck so much nicer to drive, not just off road, but onroad too. (and you can have twin lock-rights )

if your not that great on the tools get the jimny one, i have the jimny box and it turns my 35's with welded diff, have had no problems with it and it is a straight bolt on job. probably save a few $$ if you go the vit box, if you are alright with ya hands,as said above its not tha hard!
