Hey everyone over the past few days ive had troubles starting my diesel 1987 4runner...LN61 i believe. Thursday morning about 6 when im due to leave for work it would turn over fine but not start or sound close to it so i got a lift with a mate and today ive got an rdo so i tried it at 8.00 when my old man went to leave for work and it still wouldnt start, cranking fine though as my battery is only about 2 months old. My old mans diesel Merc Vito van turned over fine after about 10 secs of cranking. I tried again at 9.30 this morning and it finally started but was very 'rough n tumble' and still didnt really want to run. Its only an issue in this cold winter brisbane is having and want to know how i can get it started short of rolling it down the driveway and it possibly still not starting. My glow plugs take roughly 2 or 3 seconds to warm up which ive been told is good. Ive done a few searches but only found people that have difficulty starting their diesels and not not starting at all.
Thank you all in advance

Are you judging the glowplugs by the dashlight or have you actually pulled them out and tested them?
