Not a bad idea , not all the vehicles have two rated points but it is a good idea , you might have to watch the tree trunk protector rating as they are not usually used as a snatch strap , but that comes down to the quality of your gear I guess , might be using that from now on , Cheers Paul.

another technique is to attach the snatch strap as normal to both vehicles, be that straight onto a hook, or using a shackle, then attach a tree trunk protector to the snatch through it s eye, then onto another attatchment point. during normal operation the tree protector is slack, if the snatch breaks at the attachment point the protector should have enough slack in it to brake the flying shackle/recovery point.

also another technique i have been taught for snatching is to attach both vehicles, the bogged car leaves its brakes on the lead car takes up as much slack as it can until it loses traction and then the bogged car comes off its brakes. this was taught to us to try first as it places the least amount of stress on the attachment points. of course if it doesn't work (it worked ok on beach only) then give it some stick.

I like that method better.

Of course decent recovery points should be the first priority.
