ben, gearing will be fine, the cvs and ring gear might not like it for too long though..... mikes cvs will let go soon, just hasnt hit anything hard enough yet.
superior can help with the cvs though.

OK,
From someone who actually knows as they have tied it
Your motor will be fine.
MQs have 4.6s in them like i had in my old truck.
4.8s wont help you much.
where you are going to get let down big time is the 4 speed box.
i ran a 5 speed which has much lower 1st then a 4 speed and 4.6 gears in my old patrol, and on 38s i was struggling to hold anything close to a crawl and was having to burn clutches to rock climb, or give it more than i wanted to and i had a 308 V8 in it.....
so i put a GQ 5speed and transfer in mine with rock hoppers which made it possible. then i went up to 39.5 inch tyres and i was good to crawl.
You will not be able to crawl and will have to hit things too hard and break things or you will stall out and burn clutches. if i was you while u have it all apart i would put a GQ 5 speed and transfer in so it lines up with your diffs for better drive angle, and also allows you to put rock hoppers in the Tcase.
another thing is you will break CVs heaps with no gearing on 42s because of the way you will be forced to drive the car.
My new one has mogs, NP205 and auto to drive 44s
Ive been there and done that at this level with MQs before and am happy to offer my advice, dont make the same mistakes i did with my first one, which is swaping and changing things and having it apart way too many times with different stuff, thats why im building a new one from scratch with all the right gear in it.
BTW, the truck looks good mate.
