Gidday
Ive got a Bundy frontend in the Zook Ive bought and Im in the middle of getting it back on the road. (BIG JOB!)
For any who have this setup.
Just wondering what powersteering box, Arms, etc, you are running and weather you have had problems with the Tierod end Breaking because the angle from the Pitman arm is very steep.
I think this has 60seires steering arms. (Not sure what they are really) It also has Izusu Steering box that is really far forward on the chassis and the engineer does not like it where it is and wants it to go back to simlar original spot.
Thanks

not sure on the bundy but a few steering boxes people use are the 60 series one which sits on the outside if the chassis rail and the cressida one has been used.

Remy,
I think some photos might help. You have a fairly unusual setup from the sound of it so it is hard to troubleshoot with words.
landcruiser steering boxes sit outside the chassis and have forward pointing pitman arms which normally means the bix is up near the engine mount to get the pitman arm in the right spot.
Vit boxes will need a drop pitman arm (tarago) if you have masses of height or droop. This has been well covered.
IMHO the "ultimate" box would be a LHD IFS hilux box - this will sit inside the chassis with a rear facing arm.
I believe that bundy knuckles should interchanges with hilux (or they might bolt on to bundy?)so you could run a hilux hi steer to fix the pitman arm angle problem.

mate I'm doing mine atm, was going to use a gq box as i have it lying around. TRE's aren't good for mig angles so have them flat when in the neutral position.
cheers bru

Have a Bundera front end. Using Vitara power steering. The Bundy tie rod end fits the Tarago Pitman arm perfectly. Have cut down and retapped the arm to get the length right. Havent got it all together and running (thats a long way off) but will also utilise a ram assist.

Thanks
Looks like the best thing for now will be too have a good measure up and see what is where exactly then go have a look at a Stock Bundy front and start matching things up better.
Im found a Vit PS box, will now find a tarago pitman arm.
I was hoping to use this combo but wasnt sure if there was a better match.
Thanks again.

The YR21 model Tarago has the correct arm. There are probably more around this model that fit as well but cannot confirm it.
