i done it with import pajero calipers and hilux discs, the calipers had the levers for the handbrake.

i just made the caliper mounts from 8mm plate.

worked great. the whole lot cost me around $100..

GQ Rotors, Subaru Calipers (with the cable handbrake) and a bracket, STUMPY did a good thread on this last year in the Toyota section
look for that.
I can supply the brackets if you need them

the search tool needs to be n00bilation proof i think...

its not just a matter of bolt on bandit work mate... seriously consult an engineer if you want it to be road legal. The second topic has the most info from a bloke named ozrunner who is realllly switched on and his advice should be pretty closely followed.

Have a look in the members section for a bloke by the name of MART and his coiled zook, it has rear discs on hilux housing and posted some more info there.

Hope this helps...

Thanks mate

I have an engineer Im working with and Im just getting info and then I will go to him and say "what do you think"? He is very good and may make some changes as most do.

Im going to run the diff on a Zook so Mart will be a good point of contact.

Thanks again

I have XR8 rear slotted discs with XH falcon calipers (with hand brake leavers). Work well but the had to buy blank rotors and drill them to suit the 6 stud. I dont think that this was the eaisest setup.

r31 skyline rear rotors and calipers with an adaptor plate, il have to check on the suplier in syd about the bracket, they go for about $150. also u will need a 80series master cylinder or an aftermarket brake RESIDUAL VALVE willwood pn. WIL-260-1874.

Im tipping the 80 Sieries Master Clynder will be pretty big.
As Im running this on a Zook I wonder if there is a smaller alternative?

i never changed my brake master cylinder and never had a problem with the rear locking up. just a thought.

Why the change?
I find rear discs brakes don't work anywhere near as good as drum brakes, the only reason the car makers fit them is because they are easier and cheaper. ....... for 2wd anyway.
