Yesterday i was out in the troopy when i tryed to get up a 60 degree incline
and the old girl stalled right on the top just as i was going over. so i slowly rolled back till i was at the bottom (where i then got bogged) anywhoo the motor starts to stall again so i give it a boot on the exelorator and SMOKE starts to bellow out of the snorkle and the exaust at the same time!!! this lasted for about thirty seconds then it run great...Can anyone explain to me how you get smoke coming out of the snorkle?? Its a diesel 2H n/a too
thanks
jeff.

i wonder if you got a heap of oil through the breather into the intake. not sure how it would ignite tho.

That was my first thought too. But the engine should suck all that in, not let it waft out the snorkle.

i know with the old MQ diesle patrols, if you stall it, and it leaps backwards, the motor will actually start in reverse, thus swapping intake and exhaust, making your snorkel your exhaust, but normally to rectify this, you have to stall it, remembering in this config you now have 1 forward gear and 4 or 5 reverse gears,

motor gets hell noisy thou,

not sure if yours did this, just having a guess, as i did it to my MQ,
