Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Had a look in the bible and they all seem to be for rear quarter chops.

I am looking at going to 39.5 x 13.5 Irok's but before I do too much I need to know what sort of chop is needed. How much? Does someone do a template or something? OR is it just trial and error, I normally end up with error not trial, lol.

I have a GQ ute so the rear is not an issue. It has 6" spring and 3" body lifts, it has GU diffs front and rear so about 40-50mm wider track. It has 3rds 5deg front arms with about 30mm forward spacing.

I hope this is enough info and I apologize in advance if it is already here somewhere, but I didn't see it.

PS I don't have a hardcore 4x4 shop near by, the closest one is about 1600km so it will all be done at home.

Check out cheesey racing. They do replacment front panels to do this.
I just fitted the tyres and flexed it up and cut off what touches plus a bit. Then fold over the edges. Done.

that jt fibreglass or whatever it is do a gaurd to suit 39's. but id say pull the guard off and flex it up then take some measurements and chop away

or just cut right back on the back of the front guard and then cut the front the same height as the top of the arch and follow that line to the grill

JT Fibreglass make fibreglass and Kevlar guards to suit 37s and 42s so if you went that way the 42 inch cut would suit you better.

If you just want to cut your current guards its very easy. I'd just get some masking tape and run a line about 1 1/2 inches from your existing fold around the whole guard and then use an air hacksaw to cut it off.

Once it's cut mark another line about 15mm from the edge and then with a hammer and dolly just slowly fold the edge over which will then give you an edge to bolt flares too.
