timing belt light

hi all,just put a new timing belt on my ln65 2l hilux about 2 thou kays ago and i was driving down a bumpy road today and the timing belt light came on and seems to be stayin on.Any ideas or is this a comin prob.

just turn it off and see if it comes on again, If no one on here knows (unlikely they won't) maybe try auto elecy

Its not just the light that comes on everytime the dash clicks over 100,000kms is it?
If so just pull the little black plug out of the cluster and use something long and thin to press the little black button that is on the panel in the cluster. This will rest the light till the dash clicks over 100,000kms again.
The timing belt light actually has nothing to do with the timing belt. Its only a warning light to say its due for changing as you've just clicked over 100,000kms

I've got to do one on my LN167 soon too. I spoke to a mechanic mate who said that you have to remove the instrument cluster, and there's a screw on the back of it which is removed from its hole, and screwed into a different one. He said it should be marked (apparently).
Maybe someone could confirm this...

99% sure after the Ln series they went to the screw behind the dash which is a pain in the Ass, Because it ain't so simple to turn the light off after it's been done

If it was on the front you'd see it a bit smaller than a AAA batery end

Its about the same diameter as the trip meter zero button thingy
Without walking outside I think its even at the same hight as the trip meter button.
mmm screw in the back of the cluster, didn't know about that, what a fucking dumb idea

Yeah it's a mega pain in the ass i try avoid them where i work. Belt easy, Pulling dash out Not so. Another reason why after the solid axle lux's they went to Shit

Its not that hard to do it, it sounds daunting at first but once you do it its easy.
But yes, couldnt understand what was wrong with the old setup, maybe too many people were just pressing the button to turn the light out and then forgetting to do the belt in turn causing some serious engine failure thus making toyota look bad (which they arent, toyotas are the shit).
