How will extending your brake lines give you more flex? Are they restricting articulation?

gt60, if i put the longer rancho's in, the brake lines will just rip straight out, they are tight as it is wen the shocks that are in it bottom out, imagine what and extra 2-3 inches of shock would do

Ok looks like you changed the first post to include the bit about different shocks.

Should shocks be suspension limiters? I don't think so...

Eliminate your suspension woes and buy a cruiser.

What about Superior? I think they list longer brake lines on their site.

what else would limit down travel apart from shockies, or limiting straps which afaik no OEM vehicle has.

add aussie brakes at caboolture to the no go list. 50 bananas for one flexible line.

yes mobs like superior, chris 4x4 access do stock 'off the shelf extended brake line kits.

eh but superior want 88 bucks a line  i deal with superior a bit but not for lines.. ok wont go to cab then, prolly just hit up enzed i think. yeh basically ausoops is on the money, socks are the key to getting any suspension to work. My front leafs go alright on the standard shackles but the shackles can still allow about 3-4 inch down travel but the shocks just hit there internal stops and act as limiters. if i havnt done the upgrade by the next trip to glasshouse gt60 ill show ya how it all works, cheers, Chris

i meant shocks not socks * oh yeh and do i just take the old line in, and get them to copy it but 100mm eg longer?

$50 per line is cheap in my experience.

oh yeh and another thing that qill tie in with this.... once i get this flex goin on it with the lines and shocks, will i have to worry about the shackle 'inverting' as such?? the old boy just said i should factor this in?? Cheers

Yeah i said should they? I don't think they should however they do in some cases.

I have seen plenty of shocks with the bottom ripped out of them because of this.

Have you seen anti inversion shackles?

Mine have inverted once in some really rough stuff, after i greased them.

yeh i have a set of ome anti inverts on the rear but stuffed if im paying another 125 for the front shackles.. arb are rip jobs

Ok i'm no expert but i would say it would take a lot to invert front shackles?

Mine are vertical in the front maybe a couple of degrees more to the front, if they did invert then i would make some anti inverts or modify mine.

Have'nt checked out the legal side of making your own or modifying but could make them easy enough.

Caboolture brakes and exhausts. Top bunch of blokes and will do them on the spot. We used about 14 metres of braided line in a buggy and they charged us bout $470 all up. Very cheap.
