Ok i know this has been covered a fair bit....
My 90 Leaf spring Mav ute, has a H260 rear....
But... it is not full floating.....
is it then the 3/4 floating one?? (presumably it is)... and i read something about the 3/4 floating one being 34 rather than 37 spline??
Anyway it is all very confusing....
if it is 34 spline can the fullfloating hubs and axles go in the housing with a air locker?
It feels like nissan made my car out of the spare parts bucket...

no idea.
There's was a bit about the rear diffs on the yahoogroups patrol4wd last week or two. It seemed a few knowledgeable peeps on the list didnt even realise that there was a full floater, or "cab star" diff, aka friggin BIG! (A few thought that the leaf sprung GU had the H260).
I heard a rumor where ARB dont make a locker for the full floater. I havent been bothered going looking to see if this is true or not. I assume that they do. Too many out there to not do one.
I dont know its spline and dont know if the axles from it would even fit in a H260.
...basically I know nuffing.

Thanks Bushy555, was hopeing someone actually had experiance with these diffs though. (H260) heh...
ARB lists RD70 for the H260 37 spline.. GQ and MQ...
RD 71 for GU Petrol and 3L TD Manuals (Not CC Leaf Cab)
Anyone know what (Not CC Leaf Cab) means???
What is the diffrence between RD 70 and 71???
These diffs are a S&^t fight.....
Anyone know what the go is with the Full Floaters???

I believe

that the H260 that was fitted to MK turbo diesel utes was the version that had 34splines. All other versions--the offset semi floating version in G60's included--came with 37 splines. The GU full floating version has 37splines as does the semi floating version in GQ utes with leaf springs. Non Turbo diesel MQ/MK's had 37 spline semi floating.
The Cabstar truck version is also full floating 37spline, but features much bigger hubs/stub axles and a different wheel stud pattern.
I think that up until recently, you couldnt get an airlocker for an H260 leaf sprung withv drum brakes. I think a thrust block (goes between the 2 axle ends in the diff) has now been made up by ARB to allow you to fit an airlocker to these diffs.
