So what Web-based search engine pointed you to the secret location of the booklet ;)

i just put a locker in mine and everybody i talk from the local 4x4 store to the diff joint said to put pentrite 80/140 oil into them. also on oils i have just started using penrite in my engine and im getting a much better oil temps and oil pressures when hot

I used to swear by the penrite 15/60 i think it is semi synth, pedegree premium oil in my race/rally cars.
A lot of the targa guys used it as well. (of course 4wd is different just an opinion on the companys other products)

Recently i have been useing shell semi and full synth in my evo6 just cause i thought i would try a change. Also seems good.

But i guess the key is change it often ! for my road use i change my diff oil every 10,000kms max. (engine oil every 2-5000kms depending on use)

Just the standard diff oil as per Nissan spec. The best YOU can afford.
I run mobil 75w 90 or 80/140
Dont need to run lsd oil

Makes some sense with dinosaur juice but I don't see why you'd change synthetic that often... a pretty expensive exercise when the main point is how much longer it lasts.

Still, each to their own. IMHO if you are careful enough to change your oil frequently there's no particular point in using expensive stuff.

Changing diff oil in a road car at 10,000 depends on its use but, I wont say what I think of that.

In a car that goes offroad into mud, water and shit 10,000 would be lots!

As you say in the case of 4wd, mud, sand, water etc is a good reason to change diff oil. In the case of road car thats also sees some rally / track work then its a case of heat kills oil and no seperate diff cooler so i take the safe option and change it often.

In case anybody is wondering and i dont really want to go here with the thread as it could turn out to be 20 pages long i use semi synthetic because you get the benefits of the properties of mineral oil and synthetic oil. Each person should make there mind up on this and use decent oil but is the most expensive fully synthetic oil and better who knows but i can tell you the semi synth stuff costing 3 times less sometimes is just as good IMHO.

Some synth oil is like liquid gold !!!

A point to note about synthetic oil is although they say you can extend the time between changes atleast some oils like red line do say the filter should be changes every 5000kms. So the oil get changed every 15,000kms but the filter get changed 3 times during that time.
A very important point to note i think.
