You need to look closely at your policy, but I would be really careful about lying to the insurance company.
Most policies cover you for tracks that appear on a map, so if the track was marked properly and appears on a guide map to the island or whatever you should be okay. But you have to check your policy or get someone to check it.
Your user name is looking pretty apt at the moment, lucky you didn't call yourself "cliffbloke".

If it was above the high tide mark you should be covered, but check your policy, don't ever lie to insurance you'll get caught out for sure. RACQ cover it if it is on a formed road, so get the name of the road you were traveling on from a Ranger up there. You may even find the beach has a road name

Should be alright with RACQ. Fraser Tracks should be the same as roads in the insurance. RACQ insure you for off road anyway eg. Landcruiser Park.
Just ring up and inquire anyway but don't give your name or rego.
