Going to look at a 92 gq 4.2 diesel tomorrow here are some of the things i KNOW

Safari Turbo non intercooled ( been on there for ??? at least since 03 when current owner brought the car)

new tyres
rebuilt injector pump
safari tuff clutch
safari snorkel
rancho 9000
2 inch lift
bullbar
7seat
230k

thats all I can think of ATM he is asking 13k my question is is that about right? seems a little high to me but it has some good points SO whats a good price to be paying for some thing like this??

Also any known dramas to look for with the body and also drive line on a test drive?

I can only talk NSW prices but for that sort of money I would checking every inch of truck.

Floor pan for cracking tubo leaks play in the wheel bearings etc.

Personally I would not pay that sort of money for a 92 GQ unless its a TI or specked up very well.

My GQ only cost me 4K with 4.3 diff gears T/D ARB bullbar and scrub rails, Stratos seats the whole deal. Its a little rough looking with scratches etc but overall its a good truck.

Just dont overpay because you want one now, theres plenty of GQ's out there.

If it's in really good condition and got a full service history every 5,000 then I think 13000 isn't too bad. You could get one with high k's that's rough for a lot less for obvious reasons. As said before you'd want to be sure it was in good nick.

its worth what your willing to pay... if your happy with it, the price isnt bad or you wouldnt be considering it.

You wont see many good cond 92's with that gear for the prices some people seem to dream up. specially IF the klms are correct.

but as said, you can wait and there are plenty out there.

here in qld thats prob a reasonable price if its clean.
that said if it werent a diesel it would be worth about 1/4 that if your lucky

To tell the truth I thought around 10k would be my limit but it will depend what condition is like how it runs etc etc.

Anyone point me in the direction of a similar vehicle for 10k or less let me know.
Seems to be a few 4.2 around for 10k asking price even the Mav on here but none with the turbo and pump already done.
Whats the pump rebuild worth?

no way,
do you need the vehicle straight away or can you wait till a cheaper one comes along?
might be worth looking for one in sa brissie or sydney and just fly there, pick it up and drive it back?
