Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi guys, can anybody tell me how to remove the transfer case lever from a Vitara? I have just put in a Body Lift and need to bend it cos I can't get it in 4WD Lo.

Around the base of the lever there is a cover that is spring loaded. Push it down and turn it and then you can remove it.
