Outer Limits 4x4 Board

This is to the toyota gurus, iv got a mate who has an 1986 60 series, thats been written off but mechanically its all good, low kms. Its the 2H diesel with 5 speed. He has access to a high km cheap 1985 75 series ute, so im wondering what parts would be a straight swap into the 75? Engine, box, transfer etc, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

engine, gearbox, transfer all the same, diffs the same but axles and spring perches are different widths. front freewheel hubs, CV's, swivel assemblies etc all the same. the short side front axle is probably the same, short rear axle might also be the same. brakes all the same. front shocks same, not sure on the rear. all interior is different but the 75 interior is better anyway.

do it, there is nothing really trick about swapping all the stuff over.

the 60 engine bay is a fair bit wider, and has more room to the bonnet and sides, so any turbo parts, piping, snorkel crossovers will need modifying, the fuel filter brackets are different, depending on the year and there is a few other minor things specific to certain years, but you will find a lot of things swap over very easily

you may need to slide the engine mount back or forward (the block is already machined and tapped for this.

i know the wiring on the engine around the glow rail is very diffrent, just put a 60 series 2h in my brothers 75 and the wiring plugs looked the same but when when we plugged it all in the earth was the postive.

If you have the edic and it's relay you can make a new wiring to keep at sotck ( if you don't have in the 75 series ) and make a wilson switch for glow plugs .. ( 2H )

I would keep the 60 series axles coz the wide ..
