i got a knock in my 4.2 when I'm going down steep hills i think its got something to do with the oil going to the front of the sump and leaving the big end hi and dry is this common .???????????

it only happens if I'm hanging front first of a steep drop. i felt it knocking through the sump when i put my hand on it . it goes away on normal driving. it must be a common problem in rock crawler comps. oil at one end of motor four a long time.???????????

haha good one . no my gqs not that tall as if not me" that's just a shit stir. oil pressure is low the mane /big end s must be shot. well i think its a good excuse to go a 350 on gas or injected dropped in anyway

does your oil pressure light come on?
or do you have an oil pressure gauge?
if your motor is rear sump, mine is in the ute so im gonna assume yours is the same it is possible so much oil runs forwards that it isnt getting picked up. if the oil is getting picked up your not going to have an issue with it not getting to the bearings on hills.
have your checked your levels?

i have the gauge and it s pressure reading is 3 to 4 on the oil gauge do they have low oil pressure normally. or is this just mine that's a sine of worn bearings. mine has the rear sump pick up. ????baffles??? is a bit of over filing the oil to risky you think

well i dont know about the TD42 but 3-4 psi is very low for the motors i have experience with. high power jap stuff

20 pound at idle and 50 minimum with the revs up a bit.
you may have a worn oil pump, or bearings getting sloppy.

Patrol gauge's read in Kg/cm2. So 3 to 4 kg/cm is 49.786564456 psi,or there about.Which is fine if the gauge is correct, rarley they are. I would put a mechanical gauge on it and drive down a steep slope and compare. How many k's on her? has it been doing this long. If it is a b/end knock your oil pressure will be zero

rb30's can be stroked out to 4.3 cost abouy 8000 in parts though

the way i read that you want to stroke a 4.2 then put a rb30 head on it?
then turbo it?
