dry, dusty, no shade, a few fallen trees to drive over / around. Parts of the area have been totally stripped of all foliage and cround cover and in places it looks like a moonscape. I'll get a few pics up later today.

The trail is still awesome but we all got pretty badly sunburnt.

it's weird becasue it seemed like the drive into the first rock steps took a lot longer with the area all burnt out.

In this photo you can see the end of Fred's from where we were at the start. Very weird...

the new growth looked really strange with new shoots all along the branches. Some areas hadn't even started to grow new shoots. The fires must have been brutally hot thru places.

sunburn probly from reflection of the ash,like in the snow.
