Hey all hilux gurus. Just want to know if 85 hilux window regulators will fit into a 79 hilux.
Cheers.
Dave.

RN36, RN46, YN65, YN67 R/H Front regulators are the same so the left should be sweet too.

Thank you for that. Knowing nothing about luxes, I assume those numbers cover those dates.
Cheers.

yeah there are 2 79 models and 2 85 models plus there was a model change in 85 so I checked them all.
it works out as follows (according to the catalogue I referred to):
RN36 03/79 to 10/83 Toyota Part Number 69801-89106
RN46 03/79 to 10/83 Toyota Part Number 69801-89106
LN65 08/83 to 09/88 Toyota Part Number 69801-89106
YN65 11/83 to 10/85 Toyota Part Number 69801-89108
YN67 11/85 to 09/88 Toyota Part Number 69801-89108
Even though the toyota part numbers are different in the later YN series, the aftermarket catalogue lists TIB-80210RH as fitment for all of those models so I would assume that the genuine part number change is only minor and the regulators will most likely fit either model.
But remember, as a famous African American actor said in an equally famous cult movie - "Assumptions are the the mother of all fark ups".

I can tell you from experiance that they dont swap .. it will bolt in but it will not wind the window all the way up (unless there is a difference in single cab and dual cab window regulators)
