have you heard this clatter in 5sp gearboxes

i have just got a set of rockhoppers pout in and a new clutch.? now i have a clatter/meshing /rattle sound only when I'm slowing down to stop. this is in 2hi and if i move the low range stick a millimeter towards 4hi the retell/ clatter/meshing sound stops? it seems to be loudest rolling in neutral to a stop . also my front shaft is spinning under some type of centrifugal force is this normal to . has anybody got a remedy or a fix to Wat this might be
