G'day all, My sierra's gearbox is playing up, It clunks into first second and third and if I stop in neutral it's almost impossible to get back into first. The clutch seems fine doesnt stall or lag so is this a sign that the gearbox is dying or that the clutch is dying?

any info is greatly apreciated

Sounds more like a clutch problem that g/box.
Could be the input shaft spigot bearing seized or a problem in the cluth plate or pressure plate. Sounds like something isn't allowing it to release properly.
Not a big job, i'd whip the box out and have a ghanda at the clutch, i'm sure it'll be obvious once it's out.
Cheers Dan

Hey Buddy, long time no hear. I'd say it's probably the driver :D If you wait until mid September when I'm back I can give you a hand to whip that box out and we can re-live the experience of working on that 4 Runner at FAR!

Good luck.

IMOP start with most simple ..

Check your clutch/slave fork movement .. it's right ?

Then start thinking if your bearing or PPlate are bad ..
