g'day,

Just wondering if the coily and jimny diffs are the same? i know the ratios are different but width is what i am wondering bout.

Is the suspension on the front of a jimny coilovers aswell?

cheers,
Sean

do you mean the diff housings? wheel track width? the diff housings are different, not sure if you could put a coily diff in a jimny as ive never tried it but I have a coily and jimny in my drive way right now and from the outside they are different, the rear of the coily has extra mounts on for a balancer or some thing like what s on the transfers of coilys and the front of the jimny has a bolt hanging out of it and as far aas i can se it provides support for the crown wheel to prevent it from flexing Ive been told truck diffs are set up likr this too.
the front diff is reversed in a coily and jimny compared to a leafy sierra if thats what you after.

track widths:
wide track leafy- front- 1300mm, rear-1310
coily sierra-front-1300mm, rear 1310
jimny-front-1355, rear-1365

Ive put leafy front brakes wheel bearings and free wheeling hubs on my jimny and there was a fair bit of moding to make it work. but it works.

I was thinkin bout swapping jimny diffs over as i have heard they are stronger and more parts will be available for them.

From what I have heard jimny diffs are weaker than the coily diffs . A guy rallies one here and breaks front cv's all the time . Since they are hard to come by he machines a 410 cv to fit . Not exactly a strong cv .
