Make this landrover project number 4. Its for the wife to do her shopping in.
Ive always wanted a 90. Ive had 110 diesel utes, wagons and hardtops, and i think its time for a v8. The 3.9 in the lockless sounds awsome, and goes pretty hard, and its stock as a rock.
Its still an idea at this stage, with a few parts floating around, but specs will be.
motor - 3.9, zf, LPG, all ex disco 1 mounted in the standard position (about half a metre infront of the lockless motor)
diffs - disco 1
suspension - stock disco springs, and billsteins, and big fat sway bars
wheels and tyres - 30 or 31 inch, on freestyle mags
Chassis - defender 110, cut down to 90 size #####
body - stock 110 defender from the doors foward, back shortened 110 2 door, roof shortened 2 door 110.
colour - wife still deciding (actually she doesnt even know about it yet
)
extras - sidesteps, and polished stainless A bar.
Budget - 4K regoed and engineered after a selloff of surplus bits
finish date - 6 months depending on cash flow.
####Rovacraft in wa want 2.5k plus shipping for a 90 chassis, which doesnt leave much in the kitty, so i'll speak to an engineer this week on shortening down a 110 one. If i gotta buy one add another 6 months.
