Auto and Reduction Gears

I need to know if you need to run Reduction Gears when you run an Auto?
Are there any advantages or disadvantages?
It going in to a Comp Car, (WillowGlen, Nissan Trials, and the like)

yes, the auto can only do so much work.

do both, it makes it so much easier on the auto
what auto are you using? what engine?

Auto's will help climbing with stock sized tyres, however if your running big rubber, adding weight etc to the car then its recommended to get some reduction gears to prevent the auto from overheating. also you will want the reduction gears for descending.

it does depend on alot of thigs....
im lookig at s4's for mine! thats with a auto!

Sounds like reduction gears are the go.
Its for a SWB Vitara so it will be a 3 speed behind the 1600

You'll need gears. the trimatic has a tall first gear (2.54:1, from memory) and it will want to bog off the line unless it is geared.
