Spent a bit of time looking on youtube and came across a fair few NA powered GQ's drifting, any idea what mods they do to there motors to get this kind of power ?

Oh, I thought this might be something about them having water for their boats and they used the TB's as anchors. Marks send most of there adaptors to them.

They don't sound like v8's or turboed these ones, they're swb do burnouts and drifts, just curious if it was anything beyond exhaust and extractors.

They have had swb patrols from mq to gu so a lot of those shorties are efi petrol's 4.5 and 4.8, heaps of grunt.

the UAE got the GR (i think?) patrol, which is a GU just as a shorty. I wish i had one. But anyway, so they've got a TB48, a few people make stroker kits for them, which take them to around the 5.15L (
http://www.briancrower.com/makes/nissan/tb48.shtml) anyway that should give your TB48 some more boot.
I don't think the guys in UAE would bother stuffing around with the TB42 seeing as how the TB48 is such a better building block.
TB42, carby, either go turbo with a blow through setup, or convert to MPFI and turbo, with a good safe tune they'll make 300rwhp reliably.

just FYI....they have had Patrols in the middle east since at least the mid 1950's. Here is a pick of a 4W60 Nissan Patrol from the mid-1950's in a junkyard in Saudi.

So I can take my GU to Antartica tomorrow, and I can say they have had Patrols there since the 1990's.

I meant more along the old three C's rule carby, cam and compression. I haven't read on here of anyone changing carb or altering compression.

if you want more neddies, save your coin for a turbo setup..
most other things are not worth the effort from other threads here.. some say extractors do wonders, others cry.. depends on what your expectations are....

By the time you got a TB42 making 250-300 HP you could have done an engine swap, and have a more reliable, economical motor...
That being said.. a 465 or 500 holly, mild cam, hypertunetic pistons, 3 angle valve job, mild port, ballance and blueprint, exhaust ect. should see over 200 ponies easily even on unleaded.. (ie 9/1 compression) and still be a good driver...
this could be done for $2000 or so depending on how much you do yourself...
wouldnt like to pay the fuel bill though..
If you want a fire breathing NA motor, you would do better to start with a twin cam, multi valve, alloy head engine...
