The Blitz have an adjustable beam pattern, which I change a lot for driving in different conditions.

get the 240's then contact bushy555 for his hid upgrade fitting ($15) then get a hid upgrade kit off ebay ($100-$250) and now you have HID at a fraction of the price!!! you cant upgrade XGT's to HID. even though they have the same body!

The XGT's have a far more solid mounting system in my opinion, but it won't suit all 'bars - though the same goes for a 240 Blitz. Best bet is to try both on your bar and see which fits better.

As has been said the XGT's don't have an adjustable beam, but 'spreader' covers can be used and work quite well - i've noticed that adjustment of the blitz beam doesn't really do much.

Because of the adjustability mechanism (rotateable light body) of the blitz, the whole reflector can be stolen. They have also been known to rotate because of vibrations but i've never heard of someone losing one on the road.

The globes and reflectors are the same so light output is of equal quality.

Pair of XGT's with a 55 watt HID kit. Around $950.00 delivered. Give or take a bit. Depends on what I've got laying around at the time.

Or dood it yourself and can do it cheaper....

Adapter mounts to fit 170 and 240's. They _should_ fit roo lights as well.
But have yet to find out.

Or PM Steve 'On4ToU' - he does 50 watters and 100 watt HID conversions. Is that rumor of the 100 watters right dude?

Or my favourite trick: 7.5kva genny in the back of the ute, and a pair of 1500w 240v flood lights bolted to the roof. Practical? completly dopey and stupid. Fun? hell yeah!
Or go with a 1500 watt Metal Halide (HID) MOTHER...

That's the reasoning behind my decision, the Blitz had the mounting bolt towards the rear of the light which allowed them to fit on my bumper, whereas the XGT is more in the middle and would foul on the grille.

i reckon it is far to easy to flog the reflectors off the blitz's, they just screw off. 2 seconds and they are gone.

'cos only ppl off outers want to steal reflectors.

Doesn't take much of a brain to work it out once they try to pull the cover off and realize the reflector is rotating.

Set them how you want them, and epoxy them in...
Waterproof AND mongrels can't knock em off QUITE as easily.

If someone really wants them, they're gonna take em anyway.

I just bought the roo lites (180) instead of XGT's, due primarily to the possiblity of them blocking airflow, when I already have under bonnet temp probs as it is...

Saved $300 and I'm going to use that on HID inserts.

Plus if I f**k up a pair of $250 roo lites I'm far less annoyed than breaking a $500 pair of XGT's... :)

But hey - I still like the XGT's!

And how about the Blitz?

on my comp rig i have blitzs,XGTs,& HIDs. XGTs are far more
stronger in the mounts, esp when hit by branches(roof mounted)
or roos ect when bullbar mounted, they do fit in arb, tjm, ecb ect bullbars,
but you might find they sit out a little, they do supply adjustment rings
for HID & XGT whitch gives you a better spread(rather than two dots
in the distance)in the blitz range 140 170 240 lenzes are interchangerable
you are only limiteb by bar work. the lights are that stsong that i have
rolled the rig over on them(soft ground luckily)but it squashed them into
egg shaped, cracked the inner lenz, but still worked, boiled the billy & tiped
it over it & it poped back into shape, you can see my rig on the daihatsu
section (under pigletracing) its on page 2 sitting on XGTsholding the car
up,at the 4x4 show on the lightforce stand

I have 240 blitz on a GQ with ARB deluxe winch bar. All I did was turn the mounts the other way round to sit the lights into the bar further.
