mounting airshocks?

i have decided to ditch the coils and go airshocks 
anyways
bascily from what i can tell (from looking at buggies etc)
they need to be mounted bascily vertical??
can they be layed over slightly at all??
in the rear im thinking...
so mount them under my tray near the middle.. and spred more widly on the tray?
whats ppls opinon?
