T/Case breather

Before anyone says it i have searched. :D

I am wanting to extend the breather of the t/case and am aware that once the cap has been popped of the factory breather their isnt much to clamp the new hose to. So i was thinking of brazing a small piece of copper pipe onto it to lengthen it or tap a new thread into the original breather.
My question is can the breather be unscrewed out of the t/case or is it a press fit. I really dont want to have to drop the t/case to remove factory breather so if anyone has any ideas let me know.

Cheers
Sanger

The breather is a press fit. The best way is to tap a thread in the transfer while you have it apart putting gears in it and screw in a fitting.
Otherwise you can get a 1/4 drive socket about 12mm and glue it on with Devcon or similar. Wait for it to set(24hrs) and fit hose... Works for me.

Thanks for the reply. Well ive already got gears fitted and have had the case out already but dont feel like taking it apart just to tap a new thread. Might try and find a piece of brass a tad smaller and press/ beat it on.

Anyone else got any quick fixes.

Not the most precise solution but i found that ARB Air locker hose (the blue one) fits snugly in mine. A little bit of urethane and its not going any where.

If you've got your gears out tap a fitting in, much neater an possibly longer lasting alternative.
