Transfer swap on coily

G'day people!
So what I thought was my diff was actually the chain in my coily transfer slipping.
So, now I have the coily transfer out, Im not going to bother putting the pos back in.
What I want to know is, will an earlier 1.3 gear driven case bolt up, or will I be changing flanges etc, same as converting to a 1litre case?
I have been through the bible and done a search, so any additional advice would be sweet.

You won't be changing flanges but you will need new flange bolts and nuts because the coil flanges are threaded.
You'll still need to resolve the front driveshaft, ideally with one from a leaf car.
I think that should be all.

You'll need the flanges, the shafts, a shortened jackshaft (50 mm from memory) or a leafy one, both mounts need to be made and you'll need a speedo drive made or a conversion from mechanical to electronic.

So as an alternative, to avoid having to swap cases, can I get reduction gears to suit the chain driven case?

all u need is the 1.3 :box with mounts and stick
jack shaft
and new nut bolts and washers
thats all i needed every thing pluged back in

Yes and no. There are two options that apply to the Jimny case, they might apply to the coil case too as they are very similar. (Or you could swap to a Jimny case)
1) replacement chain gears - these provide a 26% reduction in both ranges. This will offset a bigger tyre on road.
2) replacement planetary kit - this lowers low range only by about 80% from memory.
One set is suppled by APIO in Japan, the other by Trial Jimny in Belgium (?) Can't recall which was from where.
Mugginsmoo fitted both to his Jimny case. One set of instructions in French... the other set in Japanese
This is an expensive way to go though - and there is very little support if you have trouble. Having said that, Mugginsmoo's worked very well. If fitting a gear drive case is too much hassle, going down the path of reduction gears for your coil case will be out of the question IMHO.

Cheers Steve, just getting my options lined up. The best road I think will be to swap over to a leaf case. Will make it a lot easier to fit reduction gears down the track.

Yup years ago when I had my old 97 mod coily .....thats all I had to do .......I purchased a complete Xfer with those good go bang series 1 gears .......and all I had to do was bolt in with the new (re: old leafy jack shaft / new bolts for the tail shafts .....and fit the leafy transfer mounts of which I strengthen and the chassis mounts .......
I dont recall any issues with front shafts (other than the new bolts) let alone speedo cable adaptors from memory I may have just had to rewire the old leafy speedo plug into my old loom plug ...( this is a long time ago and my memory aint real good but I do have a vague memory of doing something along these lines
)

wats the hight rang ratio difference between coil and leafy transfers cause with 31 and s1 my coily only does 90km/h now

So it looks like the leafy case is going to be the best option for me now, as I just got a price for a new drive chain through a mate who is a transmission mechanic - 465 bucks, trade price!
