I've got a 4.5 petrol, they are great value nowdays, but they aren't new cars so expect to have to put some time and $$ into some upkeep, definetly a quieter, more powerful and comfortable that the GQ patrols, excellent tourers.

the last 1FZ-FE engine fuel injected and 3 coils are very very impresive in power economy and water proofing ..

I have a 97 HDJ80 Auto and it is brilliant. The auto's are fantastic and after driving a manual and an auto cruiser I wouldn't go for a manual one. For a daily driver an auto cruiser is a thing of beauty. Petrols are cheap, but I wouldn't trade my turbo diesel for anything.

Yeah, go for it. I've got three 80's and I wouldn't go past the 4.5/Auto for an everyday driver or a good offroader. I wouldn't touch a diseasel again, well not in a 6cyl anyway. I love my 6.5/Turbo for offroad, but they cost money to set up.
Don't hold back just for the fuel economy, if you want it to suck juice you can make it, but drive it like Miss Daisy and it won't be too bad.

Cheers
Corry

Nothing better than Toyota turbo diesel intercooled engine for power and reliability ..

But we have options for all ..
