not something simple as immobiliser?

is it cranking over? any fault codes on light?

i ran mine on bbq gas injected into the intake to make sure motor is all good without the electrics.

i had similar prob i beleive but think it was a combination of fuel+plugs.

u can test the ignitor+coil to see if there toast. make sure your odd plugs and boxes are attached. eg - airflow sensor, small box on the intake side.

also double make sure about your earths. there is two manifold earths if u didnt notice.

does it wind over?

if not is it a auto loom or man loom?

Are you getting a rpm signal on the dash ?

What dizzy are you running , has it got two pickups or one , check your manual and find the resistance of the dizzy , if you can't get a resistance reading remove first pickup . If the dizzy is out of a non fuel injected car this might be your problem , Cheers Paul.

If you get a spark when your turning it off I would say your coil is working, the coil should fire when the primary coil circuit is open (ie take 12volts off the coil) so good test plug on the end of the coil lead earthed out turn ignition on and off should spark if 12 volts is going to coil and htaken away from coil.
not sure with suzi's but alot electronic ignitions i have found will break the earthfrom the coil to tell it to fire. If say there is an earth leak to the wire from the trigger to the coil it won't work or show short eather but it will do what is happening in your case and fire when ignition is switched on and off

where did you take your ignition feed for your computer from? some of the wires from your ignition switch will lose power when in crank position(blower fan, wipers ect) check your ignition feed is active when cranking not just in the ignition on position.

Does your coil have 12 volt when cranking. While cranking it does the coil lead when removed from the distributor spark to earth. If no you need to find the ignition circuit and wire it up to that. If you do get a spark out of the coil then you might not be getting a signal from the distributer via the ECM to the coil pack. You say the engine was running recently , what has changed , Cheers Paul.

Im not the best at describing what to do I'm best sticking my head under the bonnet and making the F&^ker run! But MART explains what im trying to say better, 1get lead from coil, 2 disconect from distibuter,3 put a test plug on the end of the coil lead, 4 turning ignition on and off should produce spark at plug, yes- make sure CDI unit is working properly and is sending a pulse to the coil when turning over, it should show on a meter (analog is best for this or a test light) on-off-on-off-etc.
No spark from test 4- make sure the wire from the coil triger from ecu (or it might have a amp in circuit too) to the coil has no continuity to ground when ignition is off. Good luck this kind of this is frustatrating for some but inspector morse for others. ;)

zookstock has said that he has had a spark from when he backs off the ignition so his coil and dizzy must be capable of producing spark. get a noid light or test light to check for injector pulse and ignition power.( if using a test light connect one side to earth, and using probe end check both pins for power WHILE CRANKING , then then sick your aligator clamp on to your battery positive and check for the earth pulse WHILE cranking) if you have no power on crank go back to my earlier post

im hearin ya mr green, he also says no signal to dizzy on crank and no fuel in manifold but has pressure in fuel rail! there is something is telling motor not to run eg imobilizer, clutch switch, park or nuetral switch. need wiring diagram, beer, the radio and a few hours to study, to suss this one out one feels..

Just a thought , there is a wire on the ECM that refers to crank sensor or something and I Think this is where the ECM supplies the power during cranking or recieves a signal while cranking to supply power , Cheers Paul.

did u run all the earths back to same area? if in doubt run a few more.

make sure u got one going to the manifold area, and to the block but i am guessing this is there as u are getting crank.

are u hearing the injectors tick when cranking?

you should have a cluster of about 5 earth wires running to one terminal that originally bolted to the back of the plenum , are these attached ? these wires are the earths for the ecu .

have you got it sorted?

Will look, this might be a goer, but when I think about it, i left the wiring harness attached to the engine so they should be still... do these earths attach at the same point or in differant locations...

The only plugs that I wasnt able to locate were three, (two pronged oval plugs) that ran off the engine.......
these wires all run into one really thick terminal.
