Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi there just wondering whats better to use MIG or the stick welder... I've had them repaired before with a mig welded "patch" but it still weeps and the bottom of the tank gets wet. It's just a small crack about 15mm long, would the stick give better results just stitching it up?

then grind the weld back

then use the soldering iron and some solder to cover the weld and let the solder run onto both the tank and the patch by 4 or 5mm

This way the welded patch provides the strength and the solder gives the extra sealing
