3 diffs 2 use.... sierra wt 1.3 diffs......87 hilux diesel diffs.....and the mq patrol diesel diffs, but need a rear centre......
i want it strong but if i go huge its gonna attract the blue and red disco lights.
Also i was wondering if anyone has had problems with the rear hilux diff as the pumpkin is in the centre not offset...is it a major problem??

Search for drive-line vibrations for infomation on the hi-lix rear. First question, what tyres, and do you want SPOA or SPUA. The Patrols are big, and unless your going big tyres, will just be a ground anchor. Also, doing a SPOA will cause some issues with the front diff's cast in RH spring mount. The hilux is smaller than the patrol, but still stronger than zook diffs. The zook diffs are small, light but not too wide or strong. Parts are easy to find though. I'm sure someone else will have more info for you, as both have been done in conversions before. Sierra Jim had MQ's under his old zook, and the hilux is a pretty common swap.

IMHO they are both good, but would favour the hilux diffs(easy install, "may" be easier to source parts??),
c.v's are fine if you dont drive like an idiot.
+ there is a few more gearing options with the lux diffs, although as its been stated 4.6 isnt a bad ratio from the pootrol diffs,if you can get your hands on some.
ive 'HEARD' you can shave the MQ diffs fairly heavily to overcome the dragging centre a little.
im not sure on the MQ's but hilux diffs are fairly easy to set up the steering too.
just my opinion though...................

Sell the lot and buy 60's that way the rear is offset and still have go parts availability, should be $500 for both so you should come out infront

1st what application are they going to be used for? Buggy / D,D / Comp truck? what size tyres ?
2nd, you dont have to buy hardned ones from the states, there are places that build this sort of stuff here. ok yeah it might be dear but you dont have to wait for them to post it, and if they do brake then you know who-where and how much for new ones, a mate is getting new rear axels Billeted for his VL $300 each, exy yeah but guaranteed to 600hp, he is only running 285 at the wheels with lsd centre. standard ones dont like mor then 200hp
