Salisbury wreckers here in Brisbane has one of these. It came out of a pajero but they have never got it started as the pajero had an interior fire. Externaly it looks like a good engine. It has been sitting there one the shelf for nearly 2 years so it could be cheap. They can be contacted on 07-32775066.

I have been thinking about this swap in a hilux too.
I emailed adrian at chevtorque and asked if he would recomend it as a swap and he said "not really"
I asked how reliable are these motors and he said "they are harsh and prone to oil leaks"
But he has two motors, a bellhousing to suit a hilux box and various other bits and pieces he wants to clear out of his workshop (for a price).
Now I dont know whether its worth it or not.
They used to import them so they must have liked them at one stage :? .

what was the price they wanted for the motor and bellhousing?

They want 3 grand for the lot (2 motors, bellhousing and bits)
Would be the way to go to have a spare motor as these are a bit hard to find for parts.
Dont know if I should just whack a turbo on my 2.8 and be done with it.
But V6 diesel then fit with twin turbos sounds good
