i am looking at lift kits and have done a serch and looked at the bible

i see many people use and reccomend both OME and EFS...........

tho many of these opinions and posts are fairly old

i am after opinions on things like Ironman suspensions..........i have used their products on my Jeep, but all rigs are different

also i have found a Superior Engineering 3" kit that i am keen to find out if anyone has used and if it is any good

3" are usually very firm compared to the 40mm - 2" ones.

i have only used a local springmaker and now OME's. the ome's seem ok so far.

looks like a 2" kit with a 1" longer then standard shackel.Quote(2 x front extended shackles, 2 x rear extended shackles,))
although many people use extended shackels, they are illegal in most states.Unfortunate but true. Then again most people dont get bothered by mr plod either.
Rancho are a great brand, Havent driven on them in a zook personaly, but I have in other cars and they work great.

Just curious as to why they sell a 3" lift but mention nothing about longer brake lines or other stuff that will have to be taken into effect.?? Dont know if the shocks would realy suit a standard aplication? By this I mean, not modifying the bumpstops .

I'm running efs hed them for two years and they are still very stiff but they work very well on and off road im thinking of taking one leaf out to see if it will flex as it just lifts wheels now and mine is a long wheel base :P and its 2" over springs

go OME dakars. had mine for over two years and going strong. I've customised the front light duty pack to take the bar and winch weight but the rears have been on since new and are super flexy. Really for the extra few dollars you may spend on OME its worth it I reckon. So many on here run them and are happy.

If you run extended shackles be advised that the standard shocks that come with the 2 inch lift kit will inhibit your droop by about 3 inchs with 2 inch extended shackles. with stock shackles you will be ok.

I guess there is a reason that so many people recommend OME and that is because its a good product.

I have no experience with EFS....

The same set I bought. Bit stiff, They are made for EFS by Carrol Springs,
If you are going to get these, you need to remove the third from top leaf spring as this stops a lot of the flex, and makes them back brakingly stiff on road,

I have used both Lovells and Dobinson spring with no unexpexted woes
All 2" lift
Took my extended shackles off cause they made 'tram tracking' under barkes a bother

i use them with extended shackles and they flex really good
i have found them to be pretty good for the price

OME are the softest available springs.

Everyone in the club in vic who has tried anything else is either envious of OME or swapped to them.

They offer the best ride and flex.

There are other springs with more lift, but read my info on suspension in the bible - more than 2" of spring lift will create unacceptable behaviour IMHO

IMHO buy HD springs and then remove leaves to suit the setup you have. You will 100% have to pull leaves, but the HD springs give you more options and a full length secondary that resists bending.

This is an old opinion - It's the same one I have had for about 10 years!
