do i need drop shackels?

i want big travel but also need the height 4 wheel clearance do i get drop shackels and get my rear springs reset or jusr stick with extanded shackels and gey custom springs?

go the drop shackles. Lifted leaf springs will be stiffer and therefore not flex as well. You need the drop shackles to compensate for this.
A simple analogy for you. If height is like length, the flex is like width.

drop shackles are a gimmick that take heaps of work to make effective. look at gut's hilux, there's proof you can get both height and flex.

flex and heigh it's a convinations of many points . .
Longer shackles, as revolvers .. are a options.
Longer and more flexies leaf, proper rated for suspended weight.

Extended shackles and custom springs. you won't do as well an a ramp but better in the bush than a car with drop (folding) shackles.
Do a search on Guts hilux. he has probably the best developed all round Hilux suspension i've seen. Long flat(ish) springs, long shackles, lots of flex, low overall height. Guts run q78's - 35.5" tall.
If you need height for tyre clearance you will also need bumpstop spacing.
