There are a gazillion threads about this- have a search around.
Many people import gears. It is generally cheaper.

NO YOU DON'T. Correct calmini will direct you to their aussie distributor but it is still cheaper to buy calmini stuff from other calmini stockists in the states and import yourself..
Even better... FORGET ABOUT Calmini.... Go to Lowrangeoffroad and get some guaranteed Trail Creeper gears.
It's not hard... credit card and a phone call. you'll have your parts within a week.

Trailtough state lifetime
Rockhopper say none.
Others are variations of the above I think.
Actually getting warranty might be a bigger problem even if it is offered, you owuld normally have to send the old gears back and because you are in aus you might have to pay both sets of shipping + fitting.

I found Trailtough good to deal with, more than happy to work by phone, fax or email. You can pay by Bank deposit if you want directly into their account - get their A/C no etc go to your bank and bingo.... ( fee applies )
Perhaps a card does give a little more security in case something goes wrong -but for me Trailtough were fine.

I have ordered stuff by credit card and by Paypal from Lowrangeoffroad.
I used Paypal to buy my 6.5:1 gearset.

It costs nothing to setup a Paypal account, can be done online and you don't need a credit card.
It does however cost the seller 4% of sale cost as fee, which is passed on to the buyer. On a US$400 order thats US$16 which is AU$19.65.

Steve.
that said the rock hopper warranty doesn't inspire confidence in their product.

They have these gearsets for 86-96 or something like that. Whats the go with getting something like this for my '85 lwb sierra, the cases look identical, or for some strange reason have I got a later model case.....just the same as the later model dash in the lwb??? Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a 1.3 LWB - no problems - goes straight in.
If you have a 1.0 LWB with a 4WD light on the dash- goes straight in.
This is true for any gearset.
1.0 cases with no 4WD light do not accept reduction gears. neither do Coil sierra cases.
