LSD diff guru's help needed

Hello all,
Took out my rear diff yesterday to shim up the lsd.
Got it out and opened her up and it is open center. It looks like an lsd until its opened up in the center.
Question is can i fit an lsd into it, I test fitted an lsd into the core and looks like a really tight fit(close to rubbing). Also the lsd i test fitted looks like it has smaller axle spline???
I didn't know that that gq's ever had open rears or different rear axle widths.
Car is a 1988 swb gq 4.2 petrol.
Does anyone have a spare lsd center lying around? maybe took it out for a locker?
