10 spline vs 32 Spline front diff....which is stronger????

Ok, long story short, I am putting a rear maxi drive in and will have to put up with the front setup except for 4.11 ratio for a while. I can't fit early Rangie CV's with a 24 spline centre without aftermarket axles, which i will get when i buy a maxi drive. If i put a 10 spline centre in i can run rangie cv's but then will be braking axles anyway. Opinions on whether to go 10 Spline centre / early cv's or 24 spline centre 32 spline cv's...???

24 spline axles, centre and smaller CV's will generally outlast the 10 spline crap ;)

Yeah Cloughy's answer was the one i was chasing. When i do put the maxi drive in i will use early rangie cv's and the 10 spline outer becomes the fuse plus it's 10 minutes to replace in the bush. Those chro-moly CV's sound nice but what do i start breaking once i fit those!

IMO they are stronger.

this set up is used by US comp boys.

Longfield has always been the leader in Cv strength and started making axles as demand increased. chro mo is the go

dont think he does rear.

his business is mainly CVs axles only to compliment.

full bolt in bullet proof front axle system.

HSV Rangie - I'm not sure what you're saying. Do you mean that you have some here that you are selling? OR that you are recommending them?

Do you know if they suit ABS disco's ? - I have a 96 Disco 1 with ABS.

IMO the Longfields are obviously strong noone denies that. The problem is that what else are you gonna break... Crownwheel and pinion comes to mind, axles, tailshafts, transmission. Smithy has shown that running early rangie cv's and a 10 spline outer is the easiest way to deal with the weak rover driveline. The outer stub shaft is a 10 minute replace in the bush and is always the first thing to break, axles and crownwheel/pinion are big $$ and cant be repaired till you get home. If you search on here then you will see smithy is going back to that setup with a toyota centre.
