you will notice it even less in the mq, due to the built in dampening effect and roll stiffness of leafs

get them off, not tommorow, but yesterday!
onroad i have barely noticed the diff, the suspension is just that stiff! next to no additional bodyroll.
but offroad you def notice it, makes it go heaps better! even if it is with abit of tire scrub. if you have fiberglass flares like mine then you may find that you chip a lil off the underside at the top if you flew it up to much, but ya wont notice unless you look for it.

When I first took mine off, I would have said it makes absolutely no difference on road, but it made a huge difference in flex. Over time I think this has softened up the leafs a bit and it gets sliiightly more bodyroll than before. They handle like crap anyway so don't hesitate- for the MASSIVE improvement in capability for 5mins work, it is very worth it.
To my knowledge their only function is to stop each wheel travelling more than a couple of inches relative to the other, so no, you don't need it.

if you buy 2nd hand, its rare that they are still attached anyway. i went looking thru the wreckers a few months back for parts and i only found 2 outa about 2dozen that still had them on...

get rid of it like every body else says, You'll never look back. Ican't belive that i left mine on for a couple of months when i first bought my MK.

Take it off, but keep an eye on the drivers side U -Bolts, snappy snappy, there is a thread on here about it

i read the thread on the u bolt going snappy snappy, but have never had a prob with it. Touch wood! Carry a spare with u does not take up much room and its not hard to change if you do break one.

Definitely keep an eye on the square U-bolts - they are not a good design. After removing my sway bar I broke at least 3 over a couple of years. Put it back on and had no problems for a year or 2 till I broke one just the other day. Did not notice a huge improvement off-road when I removed the bar but probably because I have front lockers.
If you start to feel the steering a bit "sloppy" on the road stop and check the bolt. It can sometimes hang on as a J bolt but if/when that drops out the truck becomes almost uncontrollable - scary I can tell you from experience. So check promptly if something does not feel right about the steering. It might be caused by any number of other factors other than the U bolt but it might just be the bolt which is dangerous.
Cheers, David
