Bug/Rock Deflectors

I realise that this is rather a tame topic compared with offroad discussion, however I do a lot of highway at dusk and night. After a quick 6 hours up the highway of a night i have trouble seeing out the front of my GU ute, and as much as i like reducing the mozzie population, i'm starting to wish the aerodynamics were a bit different so they werent all sacrificing themselves in my line of sight.
So my question is: Will fitting a pvc bug/rock deflector to the bonnet or bullbar affect the airflow around the cab enough to divert the path of bugs from the windscreen?
It just seems at the moment everything slips through the pressure curtain and any new turbulence at the front would be better than it is now.
Cheers
