Jimny Diff/axle into Coiley Sierra will it fit..?

Whats the chances of a Jimny whole front end bolting up into a Coiley Sierra....? Are the axles diffs the same as in basically unbolt trailing arms and what not put the new one in...? The other issue is diff gears going to be a problem it coming out of a Auto Jimny diff gears being different...?

many differences the front has different spring shock set up swaybars are different leading arms the same but the width also may be different the rear also very different shocks are at the rear of the axle housing on jimny hand brake is very different with seprete cables goin to each wheel you will need a grinder and a welder probably just as much work as fitting leafy axles jimny cv's are made out of playdow!! auto vvt diff ratio is 4.090 coily is 3.909 why dont you get rid of the body on that jimny and make something bolt onto it like a dato ute or something wierd like that.

Cheers for your reply gman, yeah a few things have been chucked up sofar, also have a Moke chassis sitting here that looks like it would make a good fit...? But still weighing up parting it out or using the gear to make something for fun...?

what adout manual jimny what diff gears do they have?

i looked at doing this but found ratios are different and also the cv are weak as..... you would be better off getting a wt front diff and converting it that way you can put in what ever lift you want and have your king pin angles right.(this will stop the car tracking on the road)

and you can get a front locker :twisted:

locker are available for the jimnys I have a front one but the cv's are made out of playdoe thou. Kin pin angles wouldnt effect camber wouldn't it? manual diff ratio 3.909 in early models and 4.3 in vvt models BUT my 2001 manual when you count the teeth has 4.090 (same as auto) so it might be a lucky dip.
there was a guy in Nowra, NSW building a mini (old) with a 410 running gear it look sweet.

gman, otere way round,

the auto was supposed to have 3.9 and the manual should have 4.09.
but here in OZ they are all 4.09, except for vvt

if you change the diff for a WT, it'll be too narrow, and your scrup radius will change for the worst. you wont be able to fit the same size tire on, without it hitting the fire wall.
ive been through all this when i was looking at building a stronger diff for my jimny.
the only answer i found was to get a set of 1.3 sierra CV's and have custom axles made, got a quote for $600 and they were build out of the strongest axle material made :D , you also need to cut 10mm off the end of a sierra CV.

interesting muginsmoo, those diff ratio specs were read directly from Jimny sales brochure from 1999 that explains why mine had 4.09 ratios hey.
do you think the HD CV's which D&G Tuning do are designed for 413 size axles?
also what got in the way to make you cut your sierra cv?s were you using the air hubs? Ive been running 410 cv's with no cutting

i've got manual hubs with no spacer.

as far as i can tell the D&G stuff is 1.3 but it could be TT double tough's with custom axles.
