37" TYRES ON A CRUISER

Just wanted some oppinions on what people think would be necessary to put 37's on a 75 series cruiser without too much breaking etc.
Clearance should be ok but I was thinking more about gearing and cv's axles etc will it stand up to it within reason without spending mega?
I was going to get crawler gears for the transfer but is this a good option compared to gears in the diffs?
For interest I was hoping to get either claws or those maxis creepy crawlers. Obviously the maxis would be better for my wallet but have yet to hear too much on them

upgrade the steering componets to some heavy duty gear as you wil mash the std steering links

Talk to Rolly on this board for info on the Maxxis range of tyres - both the Mudzilla and the Kreepy Krawler - I've shot these tyres (on video) in direct comparison to other bias ply tyres and was very impressed with the performance.
You'll need to space out the track to clear chassis/tray etc , with spacers or offset rims, and choppy chop the front wheel arches.

What is available as far as upgrades to steering components go. What specific parts are you talking about?

i was refering to the tierod and drag link, cause i was seeing my45's std steering bits turn to into pretzels when he was trying to turn the 37mtrs off road.

They sure did, a couple a times. Get someone like CORE4X4 to do them for you. Also my 45 needed some crawler gears really badly with the 37's. My clutch would just about sh1t itself every time i went out rock crawling. So budget for crawlers and stronger steering rods.

Fat, give Brett a call, he's a 75 cruiser guy also, so he'll know what you're after.

Cool, thanks guys.
I thought you may have been talking about the draglink balljoint and tierod ends as even with 35's these take a pissling!
I have to get all this shit done cause I still haven't had an alignment after the shackle reversal!!!

Would be silly to get an alignment first.
Will the standard power steer hold up to the task?????? I know ram assist or something would be great but $$$ and space etc might be a pain in the A

Is there any tech available on giving the power steer a steriod injection anyway???
Any tricks or things you can do for more 'power' in the steering department. I am lasy and don't like using my arms too much lol

May be different on a Yota, but when i dropped the Chev in my Patrol I also went to a Saginaw P/S pump, it is about twice the size of the Nissan one it replaced and has made my steering a lot easier.

Yeah, I would'nt mind looking into this as I know of a guy with a similar set up in relation to tires etc and has a commodore powersteer pump and it shits on the standard one in mine!!!
Surely it is possible to change(upgrade) to a bigger stronger pump?
Also what do people think are the best crawler gears to get?

If you come around to see the upgraded steering i will show you where the hydro goes and tell you how to do it
I really should do a tech article.

Seriously though I have discs all round. What do the guys that run big tires use to upgrade from vented discs????? I don't think I have seen any major mods in this department

If you don't want to help people, why are you on the board
Is it so you can learn stuff for free and not reciprocate
We don't all start out knowing everything

Now now! That is not very nice is it

Don't know about you but me never sucked for anything in my life
Are you selling your lux?
Seriously though if you look at the actual tyre sizes not just what is stamped on the wall the difference may end up being minimal as there is only a couple of companies that make tyres to the same size of what is stamped on the sidewall!
Remember also mr willy that your chassis and therefore most of your weight is a lot higher than mine
