What is this?

It's on a TB42 on a GQ. One side goes into the top radiator hose, through that brass octopus thinga, then the 6 lines go into head above exhaust ports.
Just wondering what it is, never seen it before

but like macca sead its for cooling the head quiker or more evenly.

Your saying this like its unusual? Its very common for Cast blocks to have alloy heads. There is no common problem with it.
The hoses would be someones answer to the air pockets that the TB/TD42 engines get in the top of the head. These hoses help blead all the air out and keep it that way. Airpockets cause hot spots. And then the head can crack.

I believe ontrack do this, its head cooling on a tb42. very good when running straight gas, it evenly cools the head whereas without it you have the potential for hot spots
