G'day all, grouse site.
I've got a '96 GXL pertrol that I want to fit air bags to for when I load her up or tow my van. She also sags at the back a bit since I put her on gas with the spare wheel carrier at the back and all. I'm also thinking I wanna raise her up a bit using spring spacers.
My question is can you still run the air bags effectivley with spring spacers?
Any one got the same set up?
thanks

Spring spacers & air bags

Spring spacers are placed either at the top or the bottom of the spring as your probly aware to compensate for spring sag over time or for booty fab misshaps and aligment issues.
Its sounds like you need replacement springs to do the job effectively.
reasons being are
A/ you are already compensating the spring hieght and load capacity with air bags inside them
B/ you have now added more weight to the vehicle which will ultimately affect its road handling and towing capacity.
Correct this with a proper set of new springs witthe appropriate spring rates and you can still have the best of bother worlds.
The truck will sit the way ou want, be able to carry the load you put in and still flex ( with a decent set of shocks in toe) they way you need .!
End of the day set of rear king springs...say $200..+ fit ,,problem fixed.
spacers will cost you at least $50 + fit and the under-lying problem is still there.
cheers
