any 1 got any tips on a second tank for a ln106 lux

im thinking relocate spare wheel and installing a tank from a dunny dore.
ive seen a switch thing on ebay that lets your switch the pump and sender from one tank to another.
any one know what its called and where else i could get one??

You could keep it simple .. and install a gas pump to pump fuel from seccondary tank to the main thank and keep your stock fuel level gauge .. and fuel pump from your main tank to the engine ..

Be sure to know if your aux tank pump have a safety rellay shutting off when your secondary tank it's empty.

I'm trying to talk dad into putting two Lux tanks in his LN65 while its getting built. The methods I've heard of is to use a diesel tank in the standard spot, then use the YN65 petrol tank on the opposite side of the car (where the muffler is). He's probably going with vertical stack exhausts though.

You put a T-junction and connect both tanks up, so they keep at the same level all the time. Basically it behaves as one tank, but with a ferrel baffle in the middle .

As for where the spare wheel is, I'm suggesting to dad that he puts a water tank there (40L or so). Good for camping etc, and can use for a bit of ballast in the back for towing the boat, and wheeling (rear end traction).

not necesary .. coz in a uphill your gas can goo all to the " rear " tang and you pump coul lbe unable to " drink " it ..

Fair enough.

Put another connector pipe at the rear, then most situations should be covered. Then you just gotta protect all this vulnerable piping from sticks etc.

Can't remember where I saw it, but it was a poly style tank that was made to fit between the wheel wells in a style side tray and held about 55L. Price wasn't too bad either, at least it would be a multi fit thing.

You can fit a bunderra, patrol rear sub tank plus a few others in the spot the spare wheel normally sits.

Have a look at TWISTY's build of o his 4Runner in the members section, there is info there... really just fabrication.

If you go to the wreckers, you can pick up the pump and sensor lines from an 80/100 diesel cruiser which when the button is pressed transfers from the sub to the main tank and switches itself off when the tank is empty.
