about a month ago my right side window would not go up ,they are auto, so when I got home I took it of and sprayd it with wd forty. worked great till we had that rain not long ago, pushed the butten but would not work so I left it for a while then got in the car to go home and it worked again, till yesterday whent down but fark me it wouldn,t go up,got home sprayed wd again no go took it apart couldn,t see anything. It was geting power to the switch , so I thought they where gone .know the interesting part, rang wrekers right for master control switch auto windows cost from 4x4 gold coast $150.00 to diahatsu rec at archerfield $220.00. So I thought it looked like a little computer board why not ask a computer or tv repairer and gues what 5 mins later welded a few what they dry wels and job done all he wanted is for me to go the shop next door and buy him a 2lt bottle of coke so I bought him 2 2lt bottles of coke. so I sepose the moral of the story is dont buy befor you try. has this happend to any one else.

Makes you wonder just how many minor electronic faults cost a complete replacement when a bit of minor work would have done it.

Having said that the electronice on modern cars are bloody complex and dont lend themselves well to simple fixes.

Still you won big time.
( usual disclaimers )

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.

Know the feeling....

Had a starter problem with my diesel rocky. 3 auto electricians later and over $1,500 still the problem came back and they were diesel specialists, one company was even a Rocky specialist.

Anyhoooo, took it in for a rego check and the guy calls me up and says, 'I couldnt pass it with the starting problem, did a few tests and found that there was too much voltage drop in the starter system to the starter solenoid' Charged me $45.00 to throw in a relay for it so it goes direct from the battery with labour......

Total $1545.00 :x :x :x
