exhaust system question on 1HZ

just like to no what the first muffler is if it is a cad converter and if u need it i was going to take it out and run 2 1/2 from manifold all the way to the first join where i have got a 2 1/2 exhaust running any way just thought i should ask.

I'm not sure there .. but here no cat converter in 1HZ 80 series TLC .. so better EGT all the way with 2.5" pipe ..

no it is not a catalytic converter. chop away!

It is a resonator, and is straight through design. A friend did that to his 1hz and it droned afterwards at certain revs...make sure you use a flex joint, have you considered extracters?

Will extracters go past this point or dose it still remain after extracters r fitted.

extracters go back to the flange and have their own flexy...

i chopped out that first muffler on mine so i only had the big centre one. not a problem and made only a minor difference in power and not alot in sound.
Although mine was all original.. (2+1/4?)
have just fitted up extractors and full 2+1/2 zorst today (absolute prick of a job) and on mine the only difference is from manifold/extractors > flange right on top of chassis (instead of still in engine bay) and then still have flex joint in next piece, then onto centre muffler etc.
do yourself a favour and get some extractors while your at it, seems as though you already have 2 and half most the way through.
