winch switches

I've got a switch in-cab to control winch and another on bullbar for navi. These are both isolated by an on/off switch in-cab.
My question is can it do damage to solenoid or winch motor if one switch was pressed IN and the other pressed OUT at the same time. Or would they just negate each other.
If this is a problem what can be used to give priority to one switch over the other, ie. changeover relay or something
They are wired; IN and OUT wires from both switches go to solenoid. CONTROL wire goes to solenoid via on/off isolator.
Thanks
