105 hub & 45 axle......?

Yep, weird question I know but is it possible to mount a 105 series Cruiser hub and beargings onto a 45 series axle? Ive been told that the bearings are the same but the bloke didnt know if the bearings run in the same positions on the stub axle.
If someone has a 105 hub with bearings lying round, a few measurement would be appreciated.
The reason is that my trailer has a 45 series axle/six stud rims and my new Toy is a 105 series with five stud rims. Compatability/interchangeability would be nice and could save me some heartache out in the bush......

the hub itself has a different offset and WMS width, as the WMS sits further away from the axle centre, crazy stuff
it would not work if you had brakes, without significant muds.
why not drill out the 6 stud hub, or borrow, buy one for a test fit??

Thanks BJ.
The offset & WMS will be ok if it is 'wider' than the standard 45 series offset. The trailer is registered as 750 kg so brakes not required.
Trying to avoid the weld and drill old hub scenario due to the amount of heat = warp and balance issues...and my dodgey welding!
Borrowing a hub would be nice, if I could find a someone/company in Tvl willing to lend me a complete hub
To give a clearer picture of the trailer:
-its a mid 90's(?) Hilux tub with a 50mm box chassis, running a 45 series axle and hubs with the diff centre and axles removed, and 60 series springs and shackle mounts.

does it still have the drums on it or not?
yes the hubs are setup to make you wider.
but you dont even need the hubs?
get the hub off the trailer
get your 5 stud wheel and lay it on the hub
move it around until one or no holes line up
mark and centre punch
drill holes out for friction fit
bash five studs in
tack weld on
bolt wheels on
parts required:
welder
drill press
hammer
ballsaq
wheel brace
other assorted tools for removing wheel/tyre/hub combo
